The Shadow Between: A new artwork and short film revealed
Following more than a year of preparation, Angel Fux unveils The Shadow Between, a new photographic artwork and accompanying short film created in collaboration with Nikon Europe and filmmaker Prince Berkoh.
Captured during the total solar eclipse of August 12, 2026, in northern Spain, the project explores not simply the eclipse itself, but the extraordinary transformation of the landscape beneath it.
Rather than depicting a single instant, the final artwork brings together different moments of the eclipse, allowing time to move through the entire composition—from the final warmth of daylight, through the darkness of totality, and into the night.
Alongside the artwork, a cinematic short film takes viewers behind the project, following the anticipation, preparation and uncertainty of chasing one of nature’s most fleeting phenomena. Created with Prince Berkoh, the film offers a more personal perspective on the experience of witnessing totality and the creative journey behind the final image.
The project also marks the release of The Shadow Between — Limited Edition, allowing collectors to experience the artwork in its physical form.
